We had a great stay at the end of November in fall. The owner was friendly and helpful, and it was a good base for amazing mountain hikes within about an hour's drive. A cosy fireplace and the best spot for morning coffee, too.

You need to be in good physical shape and ready to walk quite a bit. The house is secluded and peaceful, surrounded by nature, lizards, and fireflies. We loved having breakfast in the sun, and the view is breathtaking. Casa Berti was wonderful for a week: the kitchen is superbly equipped and the bed is comfortable. From the house you can set out on beautiful hikes, enjoy the view from the outdoor shower, or walk down to the village for delicious Italian food. Everyone we met was incredibly friendly, and our children had a fantastic time.

The seclusion, amenities, and beautiful surroundings made our week at Casa Berti very enjoyable, and we can easily picture spending another holiday there. We stayed in mid-August 2025 and rate it four out of five stars because of a couple of small annoyances. More windows with fly screens would have helped with evening ventilation. Also, construction debris in two or three spots around the property took away from the look of the place and was unexpected from the photos, though we understand removal is expensive. Even so, we highly recommend it.

We spent the first week of October at Casa Berti and will definitely return. It was a peaceful, relaxing holiday, with a dreamlike view and quiet surroundings, plus plenty to explore nearby. We lacked nothing in the house. Arrival and departure were clearly explained and well organized. Many thanks to Thomas Ricken for the very friendly, straightforward communication and for letting us enjoy this lovingly furnished, well-maintained home.

We could head straight out from the door for hikes in the mountains and nearby villages, and the views of the mountains around Camaiore were breathtaking. Casa Berti was our home for a week during the autumn holidays, a cozy farmhouse on a hillside and a real gem. It has everything for a self-catering stay: a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, living room, and bedroom. The tasteful wood and Tuscan stone decor made us feel comfortable from the first minute. Though secluded, it was easy to find with the owner's detailed directions, and accessible along the mule track if you're sure-footed. Check-in and check-out are self-service, but the owner explains it all clearly and is always available. Great house, setting, and service. We'd love to come back.
