A gorgeous, typical Tuscan villa with a pool overlooking the view, in an incredibly quiet spot. The host really embodies Italian hospitality, and the accommodation was absolutely exceptional.

The rooms have plenty of space, each with its own theme and character, plus a big bathroom, air conditioning, TV and a fridge that came in handy in summer. There’s even a treehouse room for anyone wanting to stay among the trees. The whole place feels personal, with art and sculptures throughout the house and garden, including work by Roberto and other local artists. It’s a quiet little spot in nature, looking out over the sea and the Versilia hills. Roberto makes you feel welcome and knows the area well, so he can point you toward good places to eat and visit. Breakfast is generous, with seasonal fruit, organic jams, juice, biscuits, fresh bread and both sweet and savory choices. In good weather it’s outside on the big stone tables; when it’s rainy or chilly, it’s served indoors by the panoramic windows, surrounded by art. The sunny pool has a lovely view and is great for cooling off after a day out or spending an afternoon relaxing. It’s clean and looked after. Leaves or insects can sometimes get in because of all the olive and other trees around it, which is normal for a wooded hillside. Roberto sometimes puts on dinners too, and I’d recommend joining one. One thing to know before you come: from Camaiore the drive takes about 5-7 minutes, but the road is narrow, uphill and bumpy in places. There are signs to the B&B and it felt safe to drive. Some roads in my own flat city are much worse.

Casa del Sole was a lovely place to stay with our baby and dog. It’s quiet and relaxed, with a pretty garden and a house that feels carefully put together, so we settled in right away. Roberto was warm, attentive and thoughtful about the details. We got to enjoy an aperitivo with live music in the garden on our first evening, which made for a magical welcome. Breakfast was fresh, tasty and different each morning. One evening, Roberto started cooking spontaneously, and watching him in the kitchen was a special, unforgettable moment for me. He also knows the area inside out and gave us great ideas for outings and authentic restaurants away from the usual routes. We had a wonderful time and will definitely return. Thank you, Roberto 💛

Robi is so sweet and makes you feel at home. The house is beautiful, decorated with art he made himself, and the pool has a romantic little spot where you can pick up a drink and bring it over for an evening together. We arrived to a magnificent dinner, and he also suggested places to visit. Don’t miss the party with live artists. Each morning there was breakfast made with typical local products. A wonderful place for a quiet but fun holiday. EXCEPTIONAL!!!!!

The price didn’t feel justified for what we got, and I can’t give more than 2 stars. The shared dinner was rather sparse for €30 per person and didn’t meet our expectations. Nobody asked about dietary restrictions. When the hot water ran out, Signor Roberto was helpful as always, but didn’t take criticism well. There were some serious problems in the room: a dangerous electrical socket beside the bathroom sink, whose cover came right out of the wall whenever we unplugged something, and woodworms and a spider living in the wardrobe. The room and bathroom were mostly clean, but the kitchenette had very little equipment. The grounds seemed overgrown, and the artwork didn’t make them look better. Getting there was quite an adventure, especially driving in the dark, which had its own special atmosphere. We made the best of our stay, but the value for money was unsatisfactory.
