Casa Fulvia

We got mosquito bites every day, strangely enough, even though there are nets on all the windows. That was the main annoyance in a stay that otherwise had a lot going for it. Casa Fulvia is an older house in a beautiful vineyard hillside setting, with breathtaking views over Camaiore both day and night. It was clean and had everything we needed, including a washing machine. There was room for our family of two adults, two children and a toddler. The small crib won’t be big enough for our little one next year, though. It might be useful to add a sofa bed in the living room for an older child or a grandparent. The pool is small, around 80cm deep, but good for cooling off and for children who aren’t confident swimmers yet. The owners were incredibly friendly. Thank you for such warm hospitality! The mountain road is narrow and bumpy. With a large vehicle like a van or bus, a reversing camera would help with getting out of the tight driveway, since there’s no room to turn around. Still, the location is peaceful and only a few minutes by car from the sea, Lucca or Pisa. The Candalla Waterfalls are close enough for a lovely hike, and the charming village of Camaiore is a short walk away, with a welcoming pedestrian area and an authentic Italian feel. A great choice for a beach break, sightseeing or an active holiday.
