Hotel Biagiotti

We had a great time with the half-board option, which gave us flexibility about lunch and dinner. The food was excellent, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast had a large, varied buffet, and the bar service was excellent. Housekeeping did a good job, and the elevator was useful. The offer included parking and beach access, with an umbrella, sunbed, deckchair, and chair. The hotel has sea views and is only steps from the beach. I was worried about there being no air conditioning, but the sea breeze helped, and the ceiling fan had five speeds. The refrigerator was handy. My only real complaint is the room: it felt cramped, and the bathroom could use a makeover.

My family and I stayed at the Biagiotti Hotel for 15 days. We won't be back, though the staff were very helpful. It took three days to find lactose-free milk and Tuscan white bread. The cleaning ladies were efficient, kept the bed well made, and always left clean towels. Overall cleanliness could use an update, but a few small improvements would be enough. There are some practical pluses: the hotel is on the seafront, paid parking is in front and included in the room rate, and beach service is included too, with an umbrella, deckchair, sun lounger, and chair. Drinks from the dispenser, a glass of red or white wine, beer, and various canned drinks are also included. There is disabled access, an elevator, and table service. My room had a sea view, a balcony with a table and two chairs, and a 55-inch flat-screen TV. Air conditioning costs extra, but there was also a ceiling fan. The building has no lobby and no air conditioning in its common areas, just ceiling fans. Wi-Fi was almost nonexistent, and the breakfast buffet was almost nonexistent too. At meals, there are paper tablecloths and napkins instead of fabric, and cutlery sits on a glass table that shows marks from damp cleaning cloths. Water at lunch and dinner comes in glass bottles and jugs that each guest fills themselves. In my opinion, that's not hygienic, since they aren't sanitized after each use. The room was spacious but poorly furnished and needs a complete overhaul. The velvet headboard should be washed between guests. There was no choice of pillows, the bed was too soft, and the bathroom had no window, just a tiny extractor fan. The shower was so narrow we couldn't move around enough for a proper shower. Its rail was fixed high up, with no adjustment. Around the hotel, things are arranged like in a junk shop; I think the owner may be a bit of a collector. There's paid parking in front of the hotel, included in the room rate, and drinks are included too. The veranda in the restaurant was too hot, although the dishes were good quality, with a choice of meat or fish. The staff were helpful, but having to wait three days for the lactose-free milk and Tuscan white bread was frustrating.

The room was too small for two people to move around with their suitcases, and that was the only real problem. The location is lovely, just steps from the beach, with a balcony facing the sea and the spectacular Ferris wheel nearby. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the food was excellent. Free parking throughout the city was a real bonus.

The housekeepers were especially kind and attentive, and the rooms were impeccably clean. They also have plenty of storage, despite the building being a little dated and some areas needing a refresh. The decor is certainly distinctive. Our room had internet access on the TV, a refrigerator that was handy for cold water, and a safe. There is no air conditioning, but the ceiling fan and the cool evening breeze from the sea-view terrace made up for it. We chose the all-inclusive package with full board, drinks, beach service, and a parking pass, and found it very good value. The hotel is at the start of the Lido di Camaiore promenade, just a few meters from the sea. Since it's in a quieter spot, it's fairly easy to park in front, and you can leave the car there until departure. The restaurant veranda gets too hot, but the dishes are still good quality, with a meat or fish option. Breakfast offered a good mix of savory food like cured meats, cheeses, and eggs, as well as sweet choices. I really appreciated the freshly squeezed orange juice. Taking the service into account alongside the price we paid, I can only feel positive about Hotel Biagiotti's approach to offering good service well below the local average.
