The staff were nice, but the room was €100 a night in the low winter season and felt nowhere near worth that. The hotel is dated, with lots of antique paintings. Breakfast was quite dry, and the only thing I enjoyed was the blood orange juice. The shower was tiny and awkward, with a mouldy curtain that stuck to me, and the bathroom flooded after I showered. The towels felt like tablecloths, the pillows were super thin, and the heating in both the room and shower could have been warmer. They forgot toilet paper on the first day, then gave us previously used ones. On rainy days, the coloured glass ceiling on the second level leaked badly, leaving a big puddle across the carpet. It needs repairing as soon as possible. The Wi-Fi was terrible, pretty much nonexistent, and it’s a 45-minute walk to Viareggio centre.

The food was disgusting, the dishes were dirty, and so were the rooms. There were actual holes in the walls, and there was no hot or clean water. Honestly, it couldn’t get any worse. DO NOT COME HERE!!!!

The building is dated and some rooms need renovation, but the staff were polite, kind, and helpful throughout. NICOLA, who runs the hotel, is friendly, generous, and ready to accommodate your needs. We’ll definitely come back. We’re cyclists, and the hotel had everything we needed: a safe place for our bikes, somewhere to wash them before setting off, water always available for our bottles, and a generous breakfast with plenty of choices. We also got excellent information about dinner. The location is great, near the sea and the bike path.
