Agriturismo Ca San Sebastiano Wine Resort & Spa

The grounds and facilities looked lovely, and I can imagine spending a whole day there enjoying the nature, but we didn't have time. We only stayed one night. The room felt a bit cramped and stuffy, and we kept the windows shut because of all the insects. Mosquito nets might help. Dinner was less tasty than we'd hoped, and service was a little slow.

The setting was beautiful, but quite a few things fell short. We booked for the spa and wine, then found the spa cost about €40 per person for just half an hour. The bathroom smelled bad throughout our stay, and most staff spoke almost no English. Some didn't seem interested in helping if you weren't Italian. When we tried to book dinner, there was no room for us or other guests, and we were told to drive 45 minutes to a town since there was nothing interesting nearby. The next day we learned there was actually a great restaurant five minutes away on foot, La Nisola, with better food, a nice atmosphere, and lower prices. We won't be back.

The place felt more like 2.5 stars to me, so I'd think twice before booking. Our three-night apartment was very rustic, with a low standard and a clear need for renovation. It had no AC, we had to ask for extra blackout curtains to sleep, and the fuses blew several times when we used the oven. The pool area was okay, though old. The restaurant food was fine but not worth going out of your way for. Try La Nisola in the next village instead. Staff who spoke understandable English were hard to find, and people generally seemed clueless and slow. Asked what there was to see nearby, we were told, “there's nothing to do here, we just have churches..” Wow, thanks!

After a day of cycling, it's such a treat to spend the afternoon and evening here. Our cycling group has stayed twice during our yearly tour through the Piedmont region, and Daniela and the staff have always been so accommodating. The food is fabulous.
