Getting back down the hill after dinner, with head torches on, was magical for us and the kids. The walk up from the cove had been manageable for our youngest, who’s 12, but this place is only for people happy hiking trails. Wear sensible shoes. On a warmer evening you can eat outside and enjoy the views. Dinner was the best meal and experience of our stay in San Fruttuoso. We shared a table with other guests and hikers, which made for a lovely evening with people from different countries. The service was kind and helpful, and the set menu had lots of fresh, tasty dishes, so nobody went hungry. The pesto gnocchi starter and rabbit main stood out. Our fussy kids said the meatballs were the best they'd ever had. If you want to try authentic Ligurian food, eat here.

The night was so peaceful, with the river nearby, and the views were wonderful. San Fruttuoso is well worth staying in overnight. The place is clean, comfortable, welcoming to guests, and eco-conscious, and I really appreciated the flexible check-in times. Emanuela replied to my messages, Alessandro looked after guests, and chef Stefano made the stay special. Definitely choose dinner here, it's something! Grazie, merci, spasiba, thank you. Such a gem.

The staff were so kind and welcoming, and the setting made this a memorable stay. We came with our kids, the youngest just 7, and they handled the hikes really well. Getting here means hiking the mountain bike trails. Prices were very reasonable, especially given the logistics: staff carry most of the groceries up or down those slopes.

We stopped in just for a snack. The kitchen was closed, so the tagliere wasn't available, but the wine, dolci, and farm products were all great. The location is beautiful, and the service was very kind.
