La Casa di Nonno Sallù by Wonderful Italy

The owners were really kind, and the location is handy for the port, beach, restaurants, and train station. But the room was so musty that even my rock-cut cellar smells better, and I only use that as a cellar, not a room to rent. We were disappointed and I wish I'd read the other reviews first. I don't know how we'll sleep tonight. Thankfully, we're only here for one night.

I spent two nights there and it was a terrible experience. The room smelled of mold, and we had to run the air conditioning to dry out the dampness. It was an old carpentry shop that had been renovated, but there wasn't even one window for ventilation. My phone had no signal and there was no Wi-Fi. €280 for that seemed like a lot.

The one thing going for the house was how close it is to Camogli beach. But it sits in a courtyard on a public walkway, surrounded by tall buildings that block mobile signals. There was no internet or phone service, and no Wi-Fi connection either, even though landline plans are reasonably priced and Wi-Fi is common in tourist accommodations. I stayed during the second week of June 2020 and had told them we were bringing an 11-month-old infant. In the COVID-19 period, the rooms didn't seem sanitized or disinfected. The floors were visibly dirty and marked with hair, perhaps human remains from last year's last tourists? There was dust on the bedside tables, television, and intercom. The rooms didn't feel fit to welcome guests, especially for the amount charged.

Mr. Ezio Camogli is a gem, both professional and exquisite. The apartment was excellent.
