Pit Stop

Nicola, the owner, makes you feel right at home. It’s a beautiful spot with a lovely garden and a big pool, just 3 minutes from the Vallelunga circuit and half an hour from Rome.

The owner was the one good thing, she was kind. The room was clean, but not properly clean, and it had a persistent damp, musty smell that hit me as soon as I woke up. Breakfast was rather poor, and the setting didn’t feel suitable. The place seems to have seen better days. It has a nice atmosphere, but it’s been left to deteriorate, so the quality doesn’t justify the price.

The owner was helpful and clearly saw how neglected the property was. They lowered the price, and we stayed because it was late and we were tired, though we would have left otherwise. I hope they fix up the decor and get the pool working during the season, especially for guests. We were there with friends in May, and the grounds were overgrown, with materials scattered around the poorly kept garden. Rooms seemed to have been locked up for a long time. Nobody came to greet us, so check-in took more than half an hour. Even though we arrived at 7:00 PM, the rooms weren’t ready, and the single rooms we’d requested had been set up as doubles. The pool was empty and hadn’t had the maintenance needed to get it running again. The location was also hard to reach. For a final bit of humor, the blanket was so thin I was cold, and some animal in the two pine trees in front of the property sang all night like a burglar alarm.

The neglect was obvious everywhere. The owner is still kind, but doesn’t seem willing to do the work the job requires.
