We spent two weeks in Italy here, and it was such a peaceful break from the city. The property is stunning!

The hotel could use some updating, and the service can be hit or miss, especially when the restaurant is busy. Staff are friendly, but at peak times they can be inattentive. Still, the food is truly excellent: well-prepared dishes with local ingredients and traditional flavors. Albergo Ristorante Benedetti in Clitunno is a decent place for a fine meal while touring the area, even if the experience as a whole leaves something to be desired. The rooms and other spaces feel dated.

Christmas lunch was five hours of sitting around, with chaotic service and a menu that was misleading. We paid 45 euros for two first courses, though one was really a second course: five tortellini and just 25-30 grams of pappardelle. The pork tenderloin was rare, and the raw potatoes only came after we asked several times. A Christmas to remember for all the wrong reasons. Never again!
