Appartamenti Margherita

It was freshly painted, clean, and tidy when we arrived, but I definitely wouldn't recommend Apartment Margherita 3. The noise ruins the vacation. It overlooks the provincial road, the busiest road in Marina di Campo, and the very old windows have thin glass. They don't even close properly, and the glass rattles as motorcycles and vans go by. Even earplugs didn't make it easy to sleep. The walls and windows provide ZERO sound insulation, so we could hear EVERYTHING, including heavy metal chairs being dragged across the floor by people in the other apartments. There are four apartments in the house. The living room had fairly recent furnishings, but the bedrooms were cheap-looking and dated, and drawers in both kept coming out of place every 3x2 meters. The bathroom was extremely old, with a bidet we couldn't use. It had no faucet, just a hole in the ceramic that leaked water and left a brownish rust streak. The tiles were patched up and only so-so, and the shower was incredibly small, surely the smallest and cheapest in the area. It's shocking that the ground-floor apartment below Margherita 3 has new double-glazed windows. An experience not to repeat.
