The setting is a real treat for families: a secluded residence beneath the pine trees, right beside the beach, with lovely sea views. The new saltwater pool was spotless, and the cleaning was superb. There’s a wide range of facilities, including free bikes with baby seats. The lifeguards and most of the staff deserve a special mention for being so kind.

I’d happily return to Iselba. We had a great week in Marina de Campo, which has plenty of shops and places to eat if you don’t feel like driving elsewhere. We also took a ferry to Pianosa for a fun day out. Our apartment was basic but had everything we needed, including a large king bed, two twin beds, a kitchenette, and a Moka for coffee. Housekeeping came each day to make the beds and replace the towels. Breakfast cost extra, so we went a few feet to Da Piero each morning for a lovely cappuccino and great service. Bikes made it easy to get into town, and we could use beach chairs during our stay. It was just a 2 minute walk from the apartment to our chair.

We’ve already stayed twice, and it really is a dream. In the morning, the sea peeking through the trees is heavenly. The people are all very friendly, and Elba is definitely worth visiting. It isn’t exactly cheap, though, and I wish breakfast had been more substantial. I’d still recommend it.
