The sea view is the one real highlight. Beyond that, I found the place badly maintained and unsafe. The railing overlooking the view feels completely insecure, the building is made of non-fireproof wood, and there are no smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, or emergency lights. There are unpleasant sewage smells too. The road up is steep and bumpy, with poor lighting at night. The furnishings are dated, and in the bathroom you practically shower over the toilet, with a risk of slipping.

The outside is the best part, with a lovely sea view. The staff were friendly, and free parking at the beach in Fetovaia was incredibly handy. We spent five nights in a studio with our newborn. We brought his travel cot, which fitted perfectly beside our bed, though the apartment also had an extra bed. It was spacious and had the basics, including a small but functional kitchenette and a reasonably comfortable mattress. As other reviews mention, the interior needs a full refresh, especially the bathroom.

I liked the sea-facing terrace, the reserved parking for Fetovaia beach, and being just a 5-minute drive from the nearest beaches. The parking space was a bit small, though. Inside, the oven didn’t work and the fridge and freezer were tiny. There was no shower stall or tray, and turning the shower on too strongly sent water into the bathroom and adjoining room, with a risk of wetting the exposed electrical wires.

The apartments have private entrances and sea views, and there’s a large private parking area. The residence sits in greenery, with broom, rosemary, myrtle, and other medicinal plants, above the sea with lovely views toward the islands of the archipelago: Montecristo, Pianosa, Giglio, Giannutri, and Corsica. It’s about 1 km from Fetovaia beach, 2.4 km from Le Tombe beach, and 2.9 km from Seccheto beach. The one- and two-room apartments have dated, poorly kept furniture. The electrical outlets and stovetop aren’t up to standard, and the price doesn’t match the apartment’s quality. €€€
