Hotel Diana

The hotel is a bit of a walk from the gondola, but they run a shuttle to the lift in the morning and back in the evening. There's also a room for storing skis and snowboards. We had a lovely week skiing here. The rooms were clean, tidy, and cleaned daily. It's a very traditional Italian hotel, and the breakfast was simple but had something for everyone: coffee, meats, cakes, bread, and more. Don't expect a cooked hot breakfast, as that's not usual for Italian breakfasts. Dinner was delicious and came in three courses, with a choice of dishes and a salad bar. The menu translation was very literal, so we had to Google things or guess what we'd be getting. I'd really recommend the hotel. It's great value, and they seem to have thought of everything to help guests enjoy their stay.

The staff were friendly and helpful, grazie. For getting to the slopes, the minibus is useful, though its earliest pickup is 3:30 if you want to come back early. From the drop-off point, you can take the skibus up or down the valley. I'd suggest Ciampedie or Alba for beginner blue runs. The Alba bus leaves from outside the hotel. San Pellegrino takes at least two bus changes and isn't linked to Val di Fassa, so it's hard to reach. Bus tickets for one or more days of travel cost €2/day and are sold at reception. I enjoyed a week skiing in the area. The rooms were great, and it was quiet apart from one noisy neighbor on the balcony one evening. Breakfast was typical for this kind of hotel: bread, ham, boiled eggs, and lots of cake. No hot options, but the coffee was good. Dinner had three courses, with adequate, interesting menus and a small salad bar. Water at the table costs extra. Drinks at the bar and restaurant go on a tab, but they don't ask you to sign it. If you're at a table with a group, checking the tab may be wise.

The rooms are cozy and nice, and the staff are friendly and caring. Staying here with the whole family felt like being part of theirs. Thank you. If you're planning a trip to Canazei, this is a very nice place to stay.

A great hotel with a really friendly team. I'd recommend it to anyone planning to ski in Val di Fassa or the surrounding area.
