Aethos Sardinia Hotel

The warmth of Monica, the Director of Finance, really stayed with us. Her kindness and genuine care were incredible, and Federico’s leadership showed throughout the guest experience. Martina, Andrea, and Giulia at reception were welcoming, professional, and always ready to help; Alessandro, the Experience Manager, made sure every part of our stay went smoothly. The whole staff was friendly and helpful. Aethos Sardinia itself is beautiful, with stunning views and an atmosphere that captures Sardinia so well. It made our first trip to the island unforgettable. We highly recommend it and would return in a heartbeat.

When the airline left our luggage behind in the country we’d traveled from, the Aethos team handled all the communication and got it to us within two days. We were worried it wouldn’t arrive in time, so being able to relax and enjoy the trip meant a lot. The staff made the whole stay special, especially Vincenzo, Debra, and Alex. We also loved the well-kept grounds, the food and its amazing ingredients, and the spectacular sea view from our room. It’s well placed for Canningone, shops, and restaurants, and the complimentary shuttle to nearby beaches and activities came in handy.

Finding a car would have been much harder without Paloma. She looked into every option, stayed responsive, and worked tirelessly to arrange transportation for us. Her professionalism, kindness, and readiness to help with a smile made a real difference. She treated our request like her own problem to solve, and her help made the trip easier and more enjoyable. We’re very grateful and hope management recognizes the great work she does. Thank you, Paloma, for making our stay memorable.

The reception and concierge teams were consistently professional and helpful, housekeeping kept our room spotless, and the lifeguards at the pools were a nice touch. The village is about a 12-minute walk away. Those were the bright spots in a stay that left me disappointed. I’d give 2.5 stars if I could. We booked sea-view room 408 for seven nights. The bedroom itself was nice, but there was no soundproofing: we could hear the next room’s toilet flush at 4 a.m., and sounds from bathrooms near the entrance carried into the corridor. The minibar was also far too expensive. A beer costs €7 there and €1.40 in the village. At a more reasonable price, they might sell more, but we bought none. At the start of the season, some restaurant and other staff seemed to be trainees. In my opinion, they shouldn’t be serving customers until they meet a suitable 5-star standard. Breakfast was inconsistent, with some items arriving on certain days and not others. The weather was rainy and stormy while we were there. The pool loungers’ seat pads were left out in the wet, so when the sun came back, our towels soaked up the water and got damp. Changing towels didn’t help. The lower pool is beside a main road, so there’s traffic noise. We ate by the pool three times. Two meals were decent, but the pizza was poor for a 5-star resort in Italy: it seemed to have a ready-made base with toppings. It was €18 for a 10-inch pizza, while BIGA Neapolitan in the village offers a proper 12-inch one for €12. It’s about quality, not the money. Cocktails cost €22-€45, and they’re served in plastic cups if you have them by the pool. I expected a quiet resort, and my research suggested it was geared toward children over 10. Instead, kids were allowed to run around the pool, jump on sunbeds, and make as much noise as they wanted. I don’t think this place is set up for kids, and it shouldn’t be a family resort if the aim is quiet. It’s an expensive place to stay, and the food and drink prices are too high. My partner called it all style and no substance, and I agree.
