Appartamenti Girasole

The location is excellent, and the apartments are really lovely!!!

The hostess was friendly and helpful, and our apartment for four was spacious, clean, and tidy. It’s set a little away from the busy area, though the promenade is a 15-minute walk. In the evening, a shuttle bus takes you back to the apartment for €1. We had a wonderful week at Casa Girasol and will definitely return.

Everything you need is provided, though the Wi-Fi could be better. The complex is spacious, with a mix of large and smaller rooms, and there’s a pool plus a covered spot for table tennis or foosball. It’s a lovely place on the edge of Canobbio. Just know there’s no air conditioning, so it can get pretty hot when there’s no breeze.

The houses are stylish and nicely furnished, and ours was clean. The mattresses were very good, too, so sleeping itself was comfortable. But the lack of soundproofing was a real nuisance: we heard neighbors’ footsteps, clattering, and every other sound. There also seemed to be around 20 dogs nearby, and when one started barking in the morning, the rest joined in. The bread delivery was handy because there’s very little close by. The landlord says the town center is 1,000 meters away, though I suspect that’s as the crow flies. It took us about 25 minutes at a brisk walk to reach the promenade or beach. If you don’t want to drive everywhere, bring a bike. The houses and furnishings are lovely, but I wouldn’t recommend the location or the soundproofing.
