Hotel Gonzaga

The room was worth two stars, but I was disappointed with the service. I stayed one night, and at 8 a.m. someone from the staff opened the door and looked into the room for no reason. They didn't speak English. When I asked for black coffee with milk, I heard staff muttering in Italian about why I didn't get a cappuccino and that the coffee looked like one. They came across as unfriendly, as if they were unhappy with their work or being forced to be there.

I've never had food this bad. We paid 36 euro for just spaghetti and pizza, and you had to hunt around for the salmon. The wine tasted like vinegar.

It's a peaceful spot with a nice building and an Italian breakfast. The price isn't especially cheap, and in my room the bathroom needed upkeep, with a broken shower.

The rooms and bathrooms were dirty, with dead bugs and spiders covering the floor. The service was terrible and the staff seemed unprofessional. Avoid it if you can.
