B&B Cà d'Artisti

We spent three days in this lovely 70s-80s villa. The architecture, paintings, and ceramics are beautiful to look at, and the hosts were wonderful and always available. Our room and bathroom were spotless, and breakfast was fantastic. I’d recommend the place and plan to return, it’s worth it.

Breakfast was a real highlight, with plenty of sweet and savory choices, homemade cakes, and the owners happy to make hot or cold drinks. The location made it easy to walk to the public beach or nearby resorts, and there’s a supermarket and restaurant close by too. We felt at home in this lovely converted villa, with its warm, unusual decor. Our bright room had air conditioning, TV, Wi-Fi, and a roomy bathroom. It was cleaned every day, and we’d come back to find fresh towels and bathrobes. The owners were wonderful, friendly, and very helpful, even arranging extra services that weren’t included in the room price or offered directly at the property. ❤️

The owner was friendly, courteous, and available, and the location is convenient for the beaches, with supermarkets a few kilometers away. Outside, the B&B looks dated but welcoming. Inside, finding reception is confusing, and there’s no elevator. Carpets cover so much of the floor that it’s barely visible, including rugs in the few rooms, around 3 or 4, which seem unhygienic. The rooms smell musty at first, have no mosquito screens, and there are cobwebs throughout. Spiders have settled around the headboards and in the corners, and there’s dust and what seems like mites even on the remote controls. The bath sponges and sheets carry the house branding. Breakfast has homemade cakes, but uneaten ones are served again the next day until they’re gone, and the rest of the food is just okay. There’s also a hotel mascot wandering around, so it may not suit people with dog allergies. I’m available if anyone needs clarification.

We chose this place for two nights because we needed somewhere convenient for getting to Lignano, and we didn’t know the area. The owners are kind and friendly, and they enjoy chatting, sometimes for a bit too long. In the breakfast room, I noticed fur from their dog, who also goes into the kitchen where breakfast is prepared. That felt unhygienic. The outdoor area is unkempt, and there’s a dusty smell as soon as you enter. For €100 a night, I expect basics like fresh towels and better ventilation to be handled properly. The artistic atmosphere is a nice idea, but some details need more care. Art doesn’t mean things should be neglected. It’s a typical 1980s house, with a large outdoor space and marble inside. There are all sorts of strange vintage objects, and it really feels like stepping into an artists’ world. Our room and bathroom were spacious, with a double sink and bathtub, but the furnishings were dated. There was carpet and Persian rugs, a wooden double bed with separate mattresses, and a wardrobe that looked like it came from grandma’s house. The room seemed clean to me and didn’t have the dusty smell I noticed elsewhere. They cleaned it, but the opened soap bars and towels were still there the next day and hadn’t been changed. The rooms have air conditioning, but the shared spaces and breakfast room don’t. There are no window screens, which would be useful with so many mosquitoes around. Breakfast was standard, with croissants, jams, fruit, cheese, and cured meats. I gave it three stars.
