You can have a wonderful holiday here, with everything you could want close by. But over the last few years, one thing has stood out. People who often complain about visitors not following local customs in Germany and Austria don't always adapt themselves when they come to Italy. Between 1 and 3 p.m., Italians have their daily quiet time. It matters to them, and the area should simply stay quiet then. Apparently two hours of calm is too much to expect from many non-Italians. That's sad. At the beach bar, people shouldn't sit around shirtless or in bikinis, or leave heaps of sand where the next guest will sit. And shouting to children across several rows of beach chairs is not something Italian parents do. Running across the beach is also a no, there are wide paths for a reason. This place can stay a paradise for everyone if visitors follow a few basic Italian customs. They cost nothing and help everyone have a relaxing holiday. Maybe some people will think about that without immediately taking offense. We still hope so.
