The hotel is clearly a few years old, but it's kept up well. Our room was clean, though the furnishings were dated and the bunk bed was rickety. Staff were very friendly, and breakfast was good, but there wasn't much variety.

The location is a real plus: the beach is five minutes away, sun loungers were included, and the old town is about ten minutes on foot. For a short stay spent mostly out of the hotel, the price may make it acceptable. The hotel itself was a different story for me. I wasn't allowed to check in even a minute early, though the place looked empty. While I waited in the lobby, nobody acknowledged me, even though the bar seemed open, so I went to a beach bar for a drink. Once I got into the room, it felt like going back to the 70s. The furniture was very old, there was carpet everywhere, and the room was extremely noisy. Other guests' doors kept slamming, and I could hear every word, even snoring. Earplugs were essential. There was no fridge or Wi-Fi, and the rooms looked different from the website. I didn't use the pool because it was dirty, with lots of sand, and looked neglected. In the morning I saw a staff member cleaning it half-heartedly, which confirmed that impression. The lobby often had a child playing in it, so you had to watch for toys, and children's programs on the TV were playing very loudly. I was rarely greeted there. Half-board let me eat at two restaurants. One was by the parking lot, about a five-minute walk away, but the pizza wasn't very good. The other was in the old town, around a ten-minute walk. They gave me only a slip listing the menu items. The choice was limited, and it seemed to me they were very focused on price. Portions were much smaller than on the regular menu. I later ate there as a regular dinner guest without the half-board slip and could compare. Breakfast was basic but sufficient, and the same every day. There were only juices from vending machines, no fresh juice, and the coffee was instant powder mixed with hot water. You couldn't choose your table; I had to sit at the same one each day. As I was traveling alone, I was seated right by the buffet on a chair, like a display. I felt uncomfortable, ate something quickly, and left. The older gentleman in the breakfast room seemed more grumpy than cheerful. I mentioned mold in the bathroom and water on the ceiling, but got little response. When I came back that evening, someone had hastily scraped the ceiling, and that was all. There was no apology. At checkout I was kept waiting, and nobody really asked whether everything was okay. If they had, I might have raised it then instead of writing this review, but I got the impression nobody cared.
