Residence Braida

Alessandra was very kind to us, and we had a lovely stay at the Braida residence. We paid for a reserved parking space and never had any trouble with it. The apartment is quiet, right where the pedestrian area into the center begins, and only steps from the beach. It's small but works well for two people, with an umbrella and two lounge chairs included. The dishes, cutlery, and other apartment equipment could be better, but otherwise everything was fine.

The location is excellent, close to the beach, about five minutes on foot from the Coop supermarket and roughly 15 minutes from the center. We've been coming to Caorle for several years and have always booked through Villaggio dell'Orologio. In recent years, we've preferred the Braida condominium. The rent is reasonable and the apartment has what we need, though out of habit we bring a couple of our own pots and pans. There's air conditioning and a washing machine, but no iron. Parking is the one issue: a space is always assigned, but it may not be free. You can also leave the car in the courtyard.

This year we got an unpleasant surprise. We were given an apartment instead of the usual one, and it looked like it hadn't been renovated or serviced for at least 25 years. The refrigerator was so tiny that hotel minibars could call themselves king-size next to it. The mattress was so worn you could make out the springs from a distance, and the hot water tap in the bathtub seemed ready for retirement. They hadn't even dealt with the mosquitoes or left more than one towel. It's supposedly an apartment for four, but I doubt the managers know the Ministerial Decree on Health of 05/07/1975. The prices, though, were at Caorle 2021 levels and then some. The numbered parking spots are always taken by other people. Management does nothing, even when you complain directly. Goodbye? No way.

We've been coming for years, and this is what a vacation means to us: the beach is just steps away, the historic center is a short walk, and once we've parked, we can forget about the car.
