Villa Delfa

Breakfast was plentiful and very good, and the service staff were always attentive. The pool area is the one advantage: guests can use the facilities of the “luxury hotels.” Otherwise, the hotel felt old and neglected, and the price didn’t match what you get. The breakfast room was a sterile white space like a cafeteria, with no outdoor seating, so it didn’t feel like a holiday. We also had power outages and water shortages as possibilities. This could be a lovely hotel if more attention went to cleanliness and service.

My wife and I booked a weekend for August 15-17, 2025. Check-in went smoothly, and we took our bags to the room before heading to the beach. When we returned at 7 p.m., the power cut out while my wife was showering. It came back after about 20 seconds, then failed again less than half a minute later. I went out to check whether others had the same issue and noticed a strong burning smell and smoke rising from below. The meter room downstairs was full of smoke, and the fire alarm was sounding. I rushed back, got my wife out of the shower, grabbed our bags, and we left the building. The fire department arrived after nearly 40 minutes. I then spoke with a manager, who calmly said they were checking whether we could return to our room in a couple of hours, once the smoke and burning smell had cleared. I couldn’t imagine going back into a building where the meter room had caught fire, so I asked for another solution. He said none was possible because they were fully booked. After a short discussion, I checked out and, with the property manager’s permission, requested a refund of the room deposit I’d paid. It’s unthinkable to run into this sort of situation in 2025. With no other hotel available for the night, I had to go home.

We got home today, July 5, 2025, and we’re already sure we’ll return next year. Our all-inclusive light stay at Villa Defla was booked through an agency. The rooms were tiny but adequate, and a helpful man and woman cleaned ours every day. The dining room staff were smiling and helpful, and the buffet had an excellent choice at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food was tasty. The grounds are beautiful, with pools that were perfect for children and pleasantly warm, not icy, water. The sandy beach was lovely too, with about 200 meters of shallow water, great for kids. Villa Delfa is part of the Marina hotel, where the reception is shared, and parking is right next to the hotel. Everything and everyone was wonderful. We also went to Caribe Bay water park in Lido di Jesolo. It was beautiful, with white sand, and great for children. You have to visit it!

The pool was a highlight: clean, with a jacuzzi and water jets, and great for relaxing. The beach is only a few meters away, and we could walk to the center of Caorle in ten minutes. Those were the reasons behind my 2/5 rating, along with the location. Everything else fell well short of expectations. We’d looked forward to the holiday, but the reality at Villa Delfa was disappointing. The accommodation felt more like two-star lodging, despite being presented as part of a higher-level hotel complex. The rooms were small and not very cozy, the bed was hard, and there was mold in the shower, which is unacceptable. The balcony looked neglected, with partly dilapidated railings and cracks everywhere, as if nothing had been repaired in a long time. Breakfast was passable and tasted fairly good, but it was exactly the same each day. Lunch and dinner were a complete disaster: the food was repetitive and tasteless, and often hard to finish. We complained several times and nothing changed. Eventually we were afraid of the hotel food and went out for pizza at local restaurants instead. Hotel Marina Palace, especially Villa Delfa, let us down on both the rooms and food. If basic accommodation and poor food are acceptable to you, the location and pool might make it an option. It just wasn’t a holiday we’d want to remember. Delegate 👎🏻
