Agriturismo le colline di Capalbio

Cristina and Alfio made us feel welcome with their kindness, quick jokes, and helpful directions whenever we needed them. We even slept in, and they kindly kept breakfast available for us. It was superb, with homemade cakes, figs, and both sweet and savory choices. We spent two nights at this agriturismo and it was even better than we expected. The countryside setting is handy too, less than 10 minutes from the sea. Our spacious, spotless room had air conditioning and its own entrance. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Alfio and Cristina welcomed my husband and me like family, and after 23 years of running the farmhouse, they clearly know how to make people feel at home. The breakfast was unforgettable, especially Cristina's homemade cakes and jams. We loved how courteous and hospitable everyone was, and everything was very clean. The farmhouse is near both Capalbio and the sea, and it's a lovely fit if you're after an authentic, relaxing stay. Highly recommended.

Internet was the one real drawback for us. It was there but difficult to use, and phone reception was poor because of where the farmhouse sits. Otherwise we had a very positive stay, helped by the warm family atmosphere with guests. It’s a shame dinner isn’t offered, since I’m sure the lady cooks as well as she bakes. The narrow country roads can be tricky, especially if another car comes along, but they give you a peaceful feeling even before you arrive. The rooms have what you need, including a mini fridge, TV with cable box, and a very good hairdryer. They’re cleaned daily, and linens are changed when needed, which you don’t always get at a farmhouse. The owners are welcoming, friendly, professional people. Mr. Alfio is charming and a bit sly, and Mrs. Alfio does a great breakfast. There are savory choices like ham and cheese, yogurt, and usually two or three homemade cakes, soft and delicious, with an aroma that fills the place.
