Twenty minutes for a drink when there were only 20 guests in the bar? I got up and left. You won't see me again.

The staff were kind and helpful, and the location is just steps from the beach. That's where the good points end for us. We were in a tiny apartment with old, dirty, poorly cared-for furniture, no sofa and no counter space. We had to spread our food over two camp beds in the kitchen. There was a strong sewer smell in the bathroom and a constant damp, musty smell throughout the place. No mosquito nets meant mosquitoes tormented us, and we also had to deal with wasps indoors. None of the shutters worked, so the rooms were either dark or flooded with light. Both the kitchen and bathroom faucets were unstable. The table had a dirty placemat with food stuck to it, and the battered straw chairs were stained and frayed, with who knows what caught in them. Terrible. The two stars are only for the location and staff. Otherwise, zero. Such a shame, and highly not recommended.

We came back to Baia del Sole for a second year, this time staying in the brick house instead of a bungalow, during the third week of August. The beautiful setting couldn't make up for a disappointing stay. We had two very young children and had asked for two high chairs when booking. Only one arrived, and it was so old and too large that our child slid around in it, so we put it aside and never used it. There were ants in the house, too. The tap water was often yellowish and the pressure so low that showering was difficult and washing dishes was almost impossible. With more care given to maintenance and service, the campsite could have met expectations. We were already considering booking next year, but this is a real shame. I wouldn't recommend it, especially for families with small children.

The location is right on the beach, with several bars and restaurants nearby. Spatano Residence is clean and has basic amenities. We had some ants at first, but the staff helped right away and sorted it out. The kitchen could do with a few more supplies, like towels, dishcloths, and sponges.
