Ripa Dei Carrai

A perfect place to spend time with the family.

I stayed here in October with my three children. It's a quiet, manageable complex with clean rooms, a pool, tennis court, and playground. The kitchen had plenty of dishes, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. There are two little access points to the beach from the complex, but they're rocky, so beach shoes are a good idea. Elba has nicer beaches elsewhere. I can't think of anything else negative. A laundry room would have been useful, though there is a laundromat in Porto Azzurro.

I spent a few days here for my birthday and really enjoyed the stay. The house was clean and looked almost new, with a big terrace and a beautiful sea view. The outdoor pool was just a few meters away and only for residence guests. The complex also had flowers everywhere and its own parking lot.

We were six in a first-floor apartment, and it felt a little cramped, though the huge terrace and its incredible view made a big difference. The place is new and has what you need, but a microwave would have helped. Inside, there’s a small shower bathroom, a double room with a built-in bed, another room with three singles, and a pull-out bed in the kitchen. The terrace is basically the living room. The residence sits partway up the Capoliveri hill, with greenery all around and a lovely sea view that reaches Corsica on clear days. Several little mostly rocky beaches with very clear water are only a few hundred meters downhill. There’s a bar and restaurant on site, open from May until the summer season ends. The nearest supermarket is about 3 km away by car, on the far side of the hill. We were there in April, so most of the summer facilities, including the pool, weren’t available to enjoy. There’s also a playground, covered parking, and a BBQ. Reception and the bar have set opening hours, and the staff were all friendly and courteous. Dogs are welcome too, and we brought our Australian Shepherd. Checkout is at 9:00 AM. I understand why, but with children it’s a bit of a stretch.
