Hotel Mamela

The staff really made my stay. Everyone was warm and professional, and went out of their way to make guests feel special. A special thanks to Rosie! 🥰 Hotel Mamela has a chic but welcoming feel, with lovely comfortable indoor spaces for relaxing or celebrating. Rooms are spacious, beautiful, immaculate, and thoughtfully set up for what guests might need. The sea and Capri Faraglioni views are incredible, especially from many rooms and the lounge, restaurant, and pool deck. Breakfast came with gorgeous views and a good range of food for different tastes and dietary needs. It’s about a five-minute walk along a charming, tree-lined lane to Capri’s lively main piazza. For me, it strikes a great balance of luxury, comfort, and location. I’ve stayed at boutique hotels around Europe, especially in Italy, and it can be hard to find somewhere truly special. This is one of those places. A couple of Capri tips: if you want to explore town when you arrive, use luggage porters. The hotel can arrange them, and they’re reasonably priced and worth it. If you’re heading straight to your hotel, a taxi is a good option. Taxis are near the luggage porter area.

My family has loved staying at Hotel Mamela for years, and twenty years on, the current generation working there is just as stellar. This visit was our honeymoon, and everyone went above and beyond to welcome us, making it a stay we’ll treasure. Francesco deserves a special mention for arranging a beautiful Blue Grotto tour and helping us pick a once-in-a-lifetime dinner. The rooms make you feel like a movie star. Breakfast was perfectly fresh with a gorgeous view, and you could happily spend the whole day in the pool overlooking the island.

We stayed with our family and everyone loved it. The location makes it easy to walk just about anywhere, and the pool overlooking Capri was a real treat. It’s relaxing enough to spend all day there, and there’s a restaurant by the pool too. The hotel was very nice, and the service was excellent.

The facilities were clean, pleasant, and well maintained, but a couple of problems made the stay frustrating. My room’s air conditioning didn’t work properly, so I couldn’t sleep because of the heat. Staff came in several times, but the issue was never fixed, and communication and follow-up were unclear. The hotel offers transport, though the drop-off was about an 11-minute walk from the property. There were no signs or directions, and without Google Maps I’d have been wandering around trying to find the place. It took away from what could have been a relaxing stay.
