Hotel La Reginella

The room was just right, and the coffee was amazing. Alex is such a lovely person, and I enjoyed seeing him with his dogs and cats. We had a delightful stay.

I want to be clear that my one star is about the manager, Alex, not the hotel itself. In our experience, he treated us differently because we have brown skin, and I found his behavior racist. After our first night, we came back from a long day out to find our room hadn't been cleaned. When I contacted him, he said, “I’m not sure what happened!” There wasn't even a simple apology. The hotel is quite far from the supermarket and main square, so we were tired and asked for water. He refused, saying everything was locked away and we should have water in our rooms, even though he knew the room hadn't been cleaned and there was no water left in the fridge. We were paying a premium to stay there, and I thought refusing guests water was cheap. That evening we politely asked if we could sit in the lobby and on the breakfast terrace to enjoy the view. Alex said no. We explained several times that we wouldn't touch anything and only wanted a place to sit, but he still wouldn't let us. On our last day, we asked to check out at 11:30 instead of 11, just half an hour later. He replied, “I don’t care,” and said the rooms had to be empty by 11. It was shocking and rude. He says he has 30 years of experience, but our interactions made us feel he had no customer service experience. We've travelled to 30+ countries and stayed in many hotels, and never had this kind of experience with a manager. I'm sure he'll dispute everything in his reply and lie about it, but I truly hope the hotel boss contacts me so we can share what happened with Mr. Unprofessional Alex. He needs customer service 101 training.

We had a really nice stay and felt it was worth the price. Alex was lovely and gave us lots of helpful guidance. It was nice meeting him and his dog. Our room was clean and really spacious, with Alexa in it too. Breakfast was a very nice buffet with bread, cake, yogurt, and everything else. Highly recommend.

The view is spectacular, and breakfast is worth looking forward to. The torta was the best we had, all homemade. It's a small family-run guesthouse, and Alex is a caring, awesome host. Thanks!
