B&B Family First

This town sits on a major east-west route across northern Italy, so it worked as a stop after a long drive, though I wouldn’t choose it for a holiday. We’re a family of five with children and made a spontaneous booking through booking.com from the motorway, about three hours before arriving. We’d accidentally chosen a date a month later. Fortunately a room was still free, and since we were the only guests that evening, the host offered us the night for cash. We paid, at a price well above the already expensive online rate. He said we could cancel the mistaken booking for the following month, but that turned out to be untrue. Even after we made several cancellation requests through booking.com, the host refused, and we had to pay despite our verbal agreement.

We had a lovely afternoon enjoying the pool, surrounded by the greenery in the villa’s park. Our room was charming, comfortable, clean, and well kept, and the bathroom was spacious and clean too. Towels were provided, including ones for the pool. The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful, and Leolandia is only a few minutes away by car. Perfect for families, we had a wonderful time and will definitely return!

A big green park and a small seasonal pool are part of the property, and the prices are reasonable. It’s also close to the highway and several amenities. The staff were very friendly. This is an informal B&B, with clean, tidy rooms that have all the amenities and their own entrances. The property has an automated gate you can use at any time. Breakfast could be more creative and less commercial, but it’s fine for a night or two. Recommended for families.

I didn’t actually stay there, but the phone call told me enough. It may be a great property, but when I asked if they had a cheaper room after hearing the price for one night, they replied, “Have you seen our property? If you want, there’s a motel nearby that can sleep for 50 euros, but it’s a motel, and that says it all.” Congratulations on a great answer from a real hotelier. I run a business too, and there are plenty of ways to say things.
