We left long before the scheduled time and didn’t say anything, just to avoid an unnecessary argument, even though the staff were nowhere to be found. They only appeared when called, with the childish excuse that they were busy at other B&Bs. The photos on the booking site don’t match the rooms at all. The building was dirty and unlit, in a dilapidated, smelly alley, with broken stairs. The room had a strong, stale, acrid odor that got worse once we went inside. The sheets were dirty, damp, and full of holes, as if mice had eaten them. There was mold and cobwebs on the walls. The air conditioner smelled just as bad and leaked heavily. The bathrooms were so bad that even the station bathrooms are cleaner. A disturbing, disappointing nightmare. No horror film could do this place justice.

The location is genuinely convenient, and they were very kind when we made the booking. But our late check-in at 9 PM was followed by a rough night. After dinner and a walk, we came back to a cold room with air conditioning that didn’t work. It was mid-January, and there was no winter duvet on the bed. The only one in the closet was dirty and smelly, and the towels were badly stained. We sent several messages and got different explanations: they had checked the air conditioning before we left the keys, then it had been checked two days before we moved in. Finally came the comment, “The air conditioning might run out, what did you expect for €40.” At 1 AM we called to leave in a hurry. We won’t be back.

Not recommended. The room smelled damp, in a run-down alley, and the entrance door looked ready to fall apart. The stairwell light switch didn’t work. Inside, the shower was frightening, with damp and mold visible; there was no shower towel, and the three towels each seemed like cardboard. The shower shampoo was nowhere to be seen. The TV signal kept cutting in and out, which was irritating. I’ll leave it there.

The owners, Simona and Luigi, were thoughtful, courteous, and quick to help with any request. That’s what really lifted the rating for me. The rooms are renovated, clean, spacious, air-conditioned, and have a refrigerator. The old exterior may disappoint at first, even though the location is very central, but don’t let that put you off. For an affordable price, you get pretty much everything you could want from a B&B. Just remember that rooms aren’t cleaned daily. On arrival, there’s a full bathroom set, and if you need anything else, ask one of the owners.
