The breakfast buffet had plenty of choice, and our room was spotless. Staff were excellent, too. We stayed on May 6th at this lovely little hotel in the Abruzzo hills, just minutes from the National Forest. The views are beautiful, and it's well placed for cycling and hiking. We arrived feeling like we'd come to a friend's home, and the room was brilliantly clean. The food was excellent, and the staff were delightful. Getting there had been a struggle: our arranged car from Rome to Caramanico Terme fell through, so we took several trains and then a bus. When we called to explain the delay, the hotel went out of its way to help us arrive safely. They'd sent a driver to meet us at the bus station, about a 10-minute drive away, at no charge. From the start, we were treated like family. The town felt like a movie scene, with couples walking arm in arm, kids playing futbol in the little spaces by their homes, and astonishing views. Hotel Cercone is also right across the street from the thermal mineral baths. I'm a picky traveler, and I give this place my highest recommendation for value, quality, and overall wow factor.
