Verri

The pool situation was confusing and cost extra. We were first quoted 10 euros for adults and 5 euros for children, then the prices changed to 15 euros and 10 euros. We were told that only covered swimming, not a seat, which had to be booked by phone. A staff member at the pool then said hotel guests could use it for free. I'd ask for a price list before going. Breakfast was mostly sweet cakes, with little cereal and ham and cheese sandwiches, but no eggs, salad, fruit, or bacon. The reception, dining area, and outside of Hotel Verri look beautiful, but upstairs was a very different story. The hallway to our room smelled strongly of old food and rubbish. The room was dated, the blankets were old, there was mould in the bathroom, the shower felt hazardous, and the beds were hard and uncomfortable. My three-year-old was given a small stretcher bed, so I took it and let her have mine. At least the air conditioning worked. One woman on staff was rude and seemed not to care how we felt. The cleaners didn't come to our room before we left, so we had to reuse towels and the bins were overflowing. This was my first trip to Italy from New Zealand, and it was a really disappointing stay. I definitely wouldn't recommend staying here.

Everything was about what you'd expect for the price. The service was okay, and it's a hotel out in the province. The rooms' decor and standard feel like they're from the last century and reminded me of a dorm. That completely black shower curtain was something else, you could shower in the dark. I still can't get used to Italian breakfasts.

We were a group of students with two teachers, and the hotel was clean. The rest of the staff were attentive too. Elisa, Gerta and Anna at reception were especially helpful and kind, and went out of their way to make sure things went well. Their smiles and professional manner made us feel welcome and looked after. We had a wonderful stay at Verri Hotel in Caravaggio! 🙏

The staff were friendly and helpful, but the stay was disappointing for the price. The rooms are dated and need new furnishings, and the hotel needs renovation, proper cleaning, and maintenance. I was surprised that after 11 o'clock at night there was no one at the hotel at all. The pool is advertised, but using it costs extra.
