Vascellero Club Resort

This was my second year in a row having a fantastic holiday at Villaggio Vascellero. The resort is well kept, the staff are always ready to help, and the entertainment is fun without being pushy. Luigi’s bazaar is a real highlight. It has everything you might need, plus things you hadn’t thought of. Luigi and his team greet everyone with a smile, are incredibly attentive, and work with a level of professionalism that’s hard to find. They make you feel welcome, and their kindness and service made the stay even more memorable. Congratulations to the whole team. I highly recommend it.

The rooms are good and well air-conditioned, and the pools are nice. But for anyone who doesn’t speak Italian, staying here can be difficult. Nobody seemed to speak even a little English, including the staff, and if an animator tried to chat, it was in Italian even when I wasn’t interested. That’s why I’d suggest choosing somewhere else, ideally closer to a big city like Naples. There’s no Wi-Fi in the rooms. It’s supposedly available along the walkways, where it’s least useful, and mobile data wasn’t very reliable in our room either. Maybe the glass used there is the reason. The buffet food didn’t feel good enough for what it costs, and wasn’t restaurant quality. Parking was badly laid out too. Olive trees are used as barriers, so people often take up spaces meant for two cars and it becomes hard to find somewhere to park. If you’re Italian, it may be a very nice place to stay. That could explain why so many reviews are positive, since mostly Italians seem to come here.

I was really disappointed. The staff spoke only Italian, and nobody understood when we tried to speak English. There’s no Wi-Fi in the rooms, and although reception said it was available near the pool, it didn’t work. The fruit at the restaurant was hard as rocks. That’s especially sad in Italy, where you’d expect the fruit to be great.

One of the best hotels in all of Calabria, in Cariati. The food and hospitality were the best, the staff were respectful, and the view and location were great. Thank you.
