The house itself is lovely, and the garden is beautiful. The standard is genuinely excellent. But there’s no privacy: the alarm keeps going off, and the owner comes in whenever they want to check for damage. They also inspect the meters in front of guests and complain if the air conditioning is running. The neighborhood was the worst part, with parties, drunk Italians, and loud music going on day and night.
