Tenuta di Artimino Member of Meliá Collection

We came to Tenuta di Artimino in December with my boyfriend and our beagle. The staff made us and the dog feel welcome, and we found the whole stay wonderfully relaxing. At dinner one night, we had a delicious dessert shaped like a little cloud, a memorable treat. The elegant rooms, lovely food, and views across the Tuscan landscape made this a beautiful getaway. We’d love to return. ❤️

The estate has a fascinating Medici family history, and we enjoyed a tour of the main villa about the family’s time there. It’s a peaceful place for honeymooners or anyone looking to unwind, with beautiful grounds and a relaxing atmosphere. We came in August for my 50th birthday with six people and stayed in a two-bedroom villa. It felt too small: there were two bathrooms, but the pull-out sofa was so uncomfortable, with springs sticking out, that one of my nephews slept on the floor. The villa apartments are also a fair distance from the lobby, restaurants, and pool, so we relied on the shuttle. If you leave something in your room, going back can take at least 30 minutes round trip. The vineyard is far from activities, and a cab is the only way into town, so it’s not a good fit if you want to sightsee.

The team was so friendly and helpful, and Pamela made our time here even sweeter. There are well-kept hiking trails across the grounds, with lots of space between the three sections: a mini village, the main villa, and the land around them. It feels like a destination in itself.

We spent part of our honeymoon at Artimino, and the staff did so much to make sure we had what we needed. Sofia deserves a special mention. She took great care of us and was such fun to talk with. We also loved the pool and pool bar. If you want to really unplug, this is a lovely place to do it, with stunning views from its hilltop setting. There are hotel shuttles to the little town nearby, and e-bikes for getting there, but the bikes aren’t powerful enough to take you back out of town. There’s no corner shop or grocery store, so bring what you’ll need. It’s far from most things, and taxis off the property are very expensive. The hotel’s sunset picnic is well worth it for the Tuscan hill views. Bring mosquito repellent, though. I got eaten alive while we ate, but I’d put up with that again for the view. 😊
