Hotel Reverse

The problems started with my booking through booking.com. Within five minutes, the receptionist used my phone to request a free cancellation in the app, without clearly explaining it or getting my consent. There was no water in the room, so we had to pay for it. We asked for pool towels and got two old ones in different sizes, for €10. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, a 20-minute walk from the nearest beach. Breakfast was bad: rotten black tomatoes, extremely stale cornetto’s and no fresh juice, just squash. The dinner menu was very basic, and my dish had rotten tomatoes too, along with frozen sweet corn and seafood salad with imitated crab. There was no turn-down service, and the room was cleaned just once a day. I felt extremely uncomfortable by the pool. The owner, one of the brothers, loudly smacked his very young daughter in front of my mum and me, and she started crying intensely. A few days later, another family was by the pool. The father aggressively twisted his very young son's arm in front of everyone, while the mother did nothing except kick him as he cried. The dining area lights kept flickering, and the coffee machine broke during breakfast service. It felt like a one-star stay, not a four-star experience at all. I didn't enjoy the food and felt unsafe and uncomfortable, so my mum and I left earlier than planned. On our last day we ordered an omelette, then both kept needing the bathroom and felt sick. We literally ran out of the hotel. A horrible experience.
