We felt at home at Bellolio thanks to the owners, who were so friendly and welcoming. The farm is tucked into the quiet Italian countryside, just right for a relaxing holiday. The food was fresh, organic, and really tasty. We had a wonderful stay.

We found this place by chance and stopped for a short break with our camper. You’re on a large olive farm, surrounded by trees and nature, with a real feeling of being away from everything. It’s so quiet and relaxing, and there’s electricity and water. The owners are a lovely, kind couple who do their best to help with almost any request and put their hearts into the place. You can order a nice breakfast at their wonderful home, and use the pool and bathroom. Sadly, we couldn’t stay longer. In my opinion, it’s a secret spot for van travelers, unlike anywhere I’ve seen before. I hope we can come back one day.

The owners and the property show respect for the environment, and there are only a few guest rooms, so you can breathe. It’s easy to feel transported out of time and truly renewed here. Highly recommended if you want to enjoy and understand the real Puglia.

After our stay, I wouldn’t recommend this if you’re hoping for a typical local masseria and a taste of Italian warmth. We booked directly because we wanted to support a local business, then found that booking.com was literally 50% cheaper. When we raised it, the owners basically called us cheap. We had a punctured tyre 50 km away one night and, with no other options, asked the owner for a lift. He agreed, and we were grateful. My boyfriend said during the drive that we wanted to contribute for the help, but got no response. The owner kindly offered to take us back to the car the next morning, even though he wasn’t a warm or talkative host and seemed to find it hard to greet us or smile. A day later, as we were leaving, we were presented with a €120 bill. We understand that the help cost money, but were baffled to suddenly be told we owed that amount, without any warning that every extra bit of help would incur a charge. As the owner put it, he doesn’t run his business “with kindness.” That says a lot. His replies to negative reviews offer more of a picture of his character, too. I wish I’d noticed the 16 terrible and 5 poor reviews among 55 total before booking. I’d save your money and avoid the frustration.
