Villa Roberta

We paid €3,500 for eight days at Vila Roberta, but what we found on arrival fell short of both our expectations and the website description. The villa staff were courteous and friendly. My complaint is about the owner, who seemed to collect the money without dealing with the many problems. The kitchen, bathroom, and bedrooms were in unacceptable shape. The kitchen was very dirty, and the dishes were unhygienic and unusable. In Italy, it was hard to understand why there was no espresso machine. The sheets were unclean, yellowed, stained, and torn, and the mattresses were so uncomfortable that our sleep suffered. Many basic amenities were also missing. The website photos were outdated and didn't reflect the actual condition. In my view, the rooms should be clean and tidy, and broken furniture should be replaced. I don't understand how the place has so many positive reviews. We tried to make the best of a disappointing stay, but I can't recommend it until these issues are addressed.
