Masseria Montanari

This old farmhouse is close to the sea and beaches like Baia dei Turchi, Sant'Andrea, and San Foca. It's the kind of place to leave stressful days behind, sit in the cool summer air under the carob trees, and read in a swinging hammock. You hear the wind in the trees, kittens meowing, and shells tinkling in the breeze. At night, the farmhouse lights up. There are outdoor tables under strings of lights and a big brazier for roasting fish, or especially meat. We bought ours from Piero's butcher shop, and wow, it melted in your mouth. The rooms are comfortable and have an outdoor kitchen. You have to get used to life in an 18th-century farmhouse, but if you're open to it, you can share a table with other guests, have a good glass of wine, and laugh together like in the old days. It's lovely to meet new people, exchange ideas, and hear about their lives. Piero and Lucia are such a kind, warmhearted, helpful couple. I'm not surprised we shared wonderful evenings with them and the other guests. Puglia has a place in my heart, especially because I met these wonderful people along the way. Grateful for it all. Life is wonderful, even more so at the Masseria. Highly recommended for everyone. We'll be back with friends. Crys and Rocco

This beautiful 18th-century farmhouse sits in the Salento countryside, with a handy location for reaching sandy or rocky beaches, the region's art cities, and Grecìa Salentina. Its grounds are peaceful and lovely, with a charming family of kittens, the rooster's morning crow, and chickens whose fresh eggs Piero kindly shares. The farmhouse is well maintained, and the rooms are spotless and have every comfort. Lucia and Piero add so much with their kindness and helpfulness, giving us a truly special welcome. Highly recommended, especially for families with children. I'd return a thousand times.

The grounds were cared for and the spacious rooms spotlessly clean. The farmhouse is fantastic and well placed for reaching Salento's beaches. Piero and Lucia were welcoming, kind, and generous from the start, making sure we had everything we needed. The fun evenings and good company they helped create made our holiday in Salento unforgettable. Highly recommended. We'll be back.

We stayed three nights at this lovely property, a historic farmhouse that's been converted, and were very happy with it. Our mini apartment had every comfort, and the garden was lovely too. The owners were kind and helpful. Highly recommended!
