We enjoyed dinner with another family, four adults and four kids, at a nice table by the pool. The staff were super friendly even with the children running around, and the atmosphere was lovely. The smoked swordfish was incredible, though some of the pasta dishes were a bit greasy. The local wine list was excellent. Try the San Salvadore.

The lunchtime pasta portions can be huge, so leave yourself a few hours to eat and take in the very local atmosphere. The house vino bianco was dangerously good, as was the wine in general. I wish I’d left the car at home. We’ll come back when we’re passing through Casel Velino again. Thanks, I'll Nido! The food was lovely, and the staff were so warm and welcoming with our two free-range bambinos. Our waitress knew enough English to guide us through the menu and was patient as we mangled Italian in front of her.
