I paid extra for a better room, but was given a different one with an extremely uncomfortable sofa bed. There was a wooden board where the bed base should have been. The owner said I was late for check-in, that my room was larger, and that he had given it to two men. I’m stunned by how incompetent and indifferent this was. He didn’t offer to do anything to make up for it. A stay I’d rather forget.

The price of €50 felt far too high for Casamassima and for what we got. The so-called “Continental Breakfast” was just two fruit juices and two coffees. The apartment itself was in excellent condition, but it didn’t match the Booking.com description, and the air conditioning wasn’t working. The owner’s welcome was also completely inappropriate and unprofessional. He opened with, “Oh, you’re two women! I was expecting a couple, you know...” I was shocked and didn’t answer. While making photocopies of our IDs, he stayed with us for what felt like too long. My experience was TERRIBLE.

Nothing matched what I’d asked for. The linens were dirty and the soaps had already been used. A stay I’d rather forget.
