Villa Lice Verici

We had friendly hosts who gave us lots of excursion tips, and there was parking. It was a relief that the apartments weren’t all occupied, because otherwise parking would have been a tight squeeze. The complex is spacious and well maintained, and the apartments had everything we needed. We loved the valley view, and the motorway bridge didn’t bother us. The pool was still covered when we arrived, though. We could use it with the cover on, but it wasn’t cleaned during our stay. It was only cleaned and uncovered on our last day, when several loungers were put out as well. It was a shame those loungers weren’t already on our terrace, so I’ve taken off a star.

Getting there takes a little getting used to. The property is high on the mountain, and the narrow access road is steep and winding, so it feels adventurous at first. Once there, the place is beautiful and well kept, with a fantastic view across the whole valley. The rooms are large, modern, tastefully furnished, and air-conditioned. We didn’t lack anything. Some apartments open right onto a big terrace with tables, loungers, and the pool. The highway across the valley didn’t bother us. The cicadas are louder, and the road is just background noise. With the windows shut, we couldn’t hear it in the rooms. The hosts were easygoing, very friendly, and went out of their way to help. Thanks again!

I’m really disappointed with this place. We arrived one evening at 7 pm, and at first everything seemed perfect: a new-looking apartment, a friendly, smiling owner, and a lovely view. That changed the next morning when outside noise woke us at 7:30. The view is beautiful, but sounds carry through the valley: dogs barking, ambulances, construction, and cars on the highway right across from us. It was a nightmare. The air conditioning also didn’t work. We paid €210 a night expecting a quiet, restful place. Instead, we were woken early and couldn’t enjoy the terrace or pool because the noise outside was unbearable. That didn’t work out at all. I raised this with the owners in person. They understood and promised a price reduction, but it never came. I strongly advise against staying here. They’re dishonest people.

We spent the Christmas holidays at Villa Lice and left our hearts there. The place is enchanting, surrounded by quiet, and the family was so kind and welcoming. Mr. Renato, his wife, and the rest of the family made us feel at home. When we had a small problem with the induction hob on Christmas Day, Mr. Renato got straight to work on fixing it. It’s not far from Sestri Levante, Genoa, the Cinque Terre, Recco, Santa Margherita Ligure, and Portovenere, so there are lots of trips and places to visit, especially with children. We were two families, with two boys aged 8 and two girls aged 16 months and 3 years. Our four-legged friends are welcome too. 🐶🐱 We highly recommend staying here.
