About three days into our cycle tour, our guide suggested stopping for coffee mid-morning at Scorgiano. It's a mix of cafe, deli, and restaurant. We loved the macchiatos and the deli selection, and bought orange jam and cooked chickpeas. We also spent around half an hour looking around what seems to be a very nice restaurant and chatting with one of the owners.

Lapo and Elvira welcomed us warmly, and we had a delicious lunch with every course and ingredient produced on the estate. The pasta shells with vegetable ragu were stunning, and olive oil turned out to go surprisingly well with panna cotta. Afterwards, you can buy excellent-quality products from the shop.

The hosts are warm, lovely people who make sure you feel welcome. Scorgiano gives you that quintessential Tuscany experience, set among rolling hills and vineyards, with a quick, beautiful drive to Siena and Florence. Depending on which room you have, there may be a refreshing pool, delightful fig trees, and all kinds of delicious edible products made at the agriturismo. Grazie mille!!

We spent a night in our camper van beneath some amazing olive trees. A nice place to stay, and the staff were friendly. 😄

A few days ago we stopped for lunch, thinking we'd just have a platter. We were very wrong. Every dish and drink had indescribable quality, and the thought behind each choice left us spellbound. Elvira and her husband are special people, and their warmth and kindness won us over. We'll definitely be back. I also want to mention how willing they are to adapt the menus for allergies or other dietary requirements.
