What a striking view, and such an exclusive place!!!
The sea and beach deserve five stars, and Mr. Lello was especially welcoming. I’m giving three because the apartment, though it could be really nice and is very spacious, felt a little neglected. Some furniture was half broken, the windows were out of alignment and hard to shut, and the bathroom is dated. An adult could barely move in the shower. It wouldn’t take much to turn it into a dream apartment.
The beaches nearby are clean, well equipped, and the sea is beautiful. Our apartment for five was in a lovely complex, with a unique view from the terrace. Inside, it was somewhat dated, but everything worked. The bathroom needs updating, with no shower enclosure and old fixtures, though the washing machine was new. The kitchen had what we needed, and anything missing was brought over right away. We also appreciated the welcome kit with soap, detergent, oil, coffee, sugar, and salt. The upstairs bedroom stayed quite cool, there was air conditioning, and we had a handy covered parking spot. The owner was very kind and responded quickly to every request. The problem was the restaurant/lounge bar below us. Loud music played until 2 a.m. and made sleep difficult. We tried to raise the issue and called the police, but neither helped. The apartment owners did try to sort it out, which we appreciated, though it was still annoying. Some nights the piano bar was pleasant, but on other nights the disco music was blasting at 90 decibels and not pleasant at all. I hope they fix this. After reading the owner's reply, I want to clarify that our apartment's owner was Mrs. Giordano, with her brother, Mr. Nello, as intermediary. The Lux bar played loud music all week except the final evening. Apparently, those were all “special evenings.” The reply also assumes I didn’t measure the decibels with an app or other device, but the person responding doesn’t know that. Unless they’re the “REAL” owner. It seems odd that every negative review gets a reply saying the guest wasn’t in their apartment. There are other bars at the Sibari lakes that don’t cause these problems, which is why I hadn’t named this one in my original review.
The good points were the owner and her brother, who were friendly and helpful. But those two things don’t make up for everything else being missing. When we arrived, the apartment was filthy, and the detergent, coffee, and other items the owner had praised weren’t there. I’m posting photos of the dirty water I used to wash the floors. The OWNER'S BROTHER saw it and said they use red wax. Pot lids were missing, the kitchen lights didn’t work, and the washing machine was out of order, though they had it repaired within two days. The furniture was very old, but that didn’t bother me. There was no oven or mini-toaster to heat or cook food for my son, though the OWNER later gave us one. The shower still had separate hot and cold knobs, with no simple mixer. The sea is about 7 km away, not as close as claimed. With hygiene so important, you can’t hand over a place in that condition. La Briciola is a condominium with several apartments. Seeing Mr. Giordano embarrassed and apologetic, I think his own apartments are excellent. The one we were given wasn’t his. He was only acting as intermediary, and unfortunately it was his sister’s apartment. My review is about that apartment, not him or one of his.
The restaurant, swimming pool, and clubhouse are now open. You can also rent motorboats or sailboats.
