The view, the beautifully kept rooms, and that breakfast made us certain we want to return from Ontario, Canada. Castel Del Sangro has a remarkable place to stay, and honestly, it feels unlike anywhere else in Italy. Right beside a 400-year-old church, two brothers and their father brought an old wash house back to life, keeping its original character and its mountain-water supply. The bells became a lovely part of each morning and made the place feel like another time. The brothers welcomed us warmly and explained their father’s care and passion in restoring it. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Thank you, and arrivederci!

The team running this little hotel are so helpful, whether you need dinner ideas or tips on places to see nearby. The place is immaculate and breakfast is great. We stayed for a week of skiing. I almost wanted to keep it to myself, but the family team deserves the support.

The owners are a really friendly bunch and go out of their way to help. You get lovely local food in a typical little Italian town where people are friendly. We love the place and have come back two years running, with plans to keep returning. If you’re after ski-in, ski-out access, lively après-ski near Roccaraso, or partying all night, this won’t suit you.

The owners are great, and the staff are really nice. We’ve stayed two years in a row. They even offer rides to and from the airports in Rome, Napoli, or Pescara at no extra cost. It’s a great base for skiing in Rocarasso or visiting the beautiful villages nearby.

A small, lovely, cozy hotel right in the heart of castel di sangro. The ski facilities are a short distance away, and breakfast is super good.
