Roccacinquemiglia is a quiet village, about a 10-minute drive from the center of Roccaraso, and Castel di Sangro is also around 10 minutes away. We love Abruzzo. Residence Les Amis was a lovely base for our week, with a cozy apartment and a beautiful view over the valley. It had everything we needed, though we did need a little help with the fireplace. There's parking, and the village is peaceful, so I think it's a good option for families with children. I hope to return, and I highly recommend it.

The place itself is clean and attractive, with new furniture, but we were caught off guard by a few things. The bedrooms were in the basement and had no windows, and the complex supplied neither towels nor a hair dryer. If you're only staying for a weekend, you'll need to pack a lot extra. At the price we paid, we expected the basic essentials. We were there last weekend with another couple.

The staff were really kind and helpful, and the apartments are new and carefully looked after. There's not much in the village itself, but Castel di Sangro and Roccaraso are only five minutes away, so you can find what you need there. The one drawback is that there's no Wi-Fi. Recommended.

That small terrace was such a peaceful place to unwind, and the view was beautiful. When we stayed last year, the place was clean and tastefully furnished with new furniture.
