Park Hotel

After a wonderfully comfortable night, we had a fresh, varied breakfast and good coffee. We were glad we found this place and hope to stop here again next year. We stayed on the way down to Puglia, having often stayed in Bologna, where parking is difficult and we worry about leaving holiday luggage in the car. San Pietro turned out to be a pleasant surprise. It was easy to find with the sat nav, and there was plenty of room both in front of the hotel and in the car park, where they moved us after check-in. The check-in was friendly, and the woman spoke a little English, which went well with my little Italian. Our room was clean, spacious, cool, and quiet, though the 1970s orange was an odd choice. After a 16-hour drive, we had lunch in the garden under the canopies and pine trees. The food was amazing, and the owner was very friendly and let us sample different wines, including vino rosso locale. We had a siesta, showered, then walked about 10 minutes to the edge of town. The cicala were incredibly loud, though amazing! We wandered around, found quirky shops and a studio, had an aperitivo in the main piazza, and ate at a local pizzeria. The food was good and the prices reasonable. We didn't stay out late, and walked back in the warm evening. The building was peaceful and beautifully lit, which made for a romantic night. Highly recommended.

The staff were friendly and went out of their way to help us. Our room and bathroom were clean, and the bed was comfortable. There's a nice garden, and the hotel is next to the conference centre, close to a large park and lake.

The owner also does the cooking, and the food is really good, proper Italian fare. The staff are very nice and helpful. The hotel itself is clean, though it could use some refurbishment.

It's a small but very cute place, and it's well equipped. I've been going there for about five years and have always enjoyed it. The breakfast is great, the garden is lovely, and you can have dinner outside there too. The staff are very welcoming.
