Breakfast was a letdown, with very little choice, and the server didn’t seem able to make scrambled eggs. The dinner was good, though the room felt a bit lifeless with so few guests, and our bedroom was lovely. The old building has plenty of character, and reception was very welcoming. Elisa deserves a special mention for being friendly, professional, and speaking such good English. What really put us off was the pool charge. They described pool use as “free,” but guests who wanted to sit by it or use a sunbed were asked to pay. There were lots of mosquitoes, so we moved to two beds beneath a gazebo frame. Almost immediately, the young pool attendant asked us for another €50. We decided to leave early and stay somewhere else, which was lovely and considerably cheaper, with no extra charge to sit by the pool. This policy left a bad taste and would keep us from returning. Whoever came up with it should reconsider, because it will put customers off.

We came for karting, and the location worked perfectly, about a 15-minute drive from Cremona track. Parking was easy, the staff were great, and the restaurant food was delicious. Lovely place.

The pool and its surroundings were lovely, though it’s a short walk from the main hotel. We had a large room and enjoyed the restaurant, too. The place has a lot of charm, and we’d visit again. Only one of the two air conditioners worked, but it kept the room comfortable. There was a small problem with the shower drain. I’m sure they would have fixed it if we’d mentioned it sooner, since that seems to be their approach.

We found plenty of good food and the peace we were after. The rooms were pleasant and cool, with the feel of a place someone cares for, and the pool area had lots of sun loungers. There are cycling routes just outside, leading to small towns with good restaurants and cafés. We’ll be back soon.
