Villa Colombai

Pizza Night with Chef Guido is well worth doing, and I’d also book Chef Fabrizio for a meal or two. He’s excellent and so personable. Our family had a wonderful time at Villa Colombai. Stefano was a gracious host who helped us plan the stay, and everyone loved the pool and grounds. It was lovely to walk into town for a pastry, expresso, or maybe a gelato. Stefano and the team made the visit memorable.

A car for the whole group is a good idea, since taxis are hard to get, though there are a few nice restaurants within walking distance. We spent a week at the Villa in late September 23 with 10 adults and were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The rooms, pool, and garden were all good, and Stefano’s car service worked well. Stefano made us a great dinner, and Fabrizio and his team cooked an excellent one too. The pizza workshop with Guido was a highlight; he was a fun, skilled teacher. Thanks, Stefano. Hope we meet again.

Stefano was the best part of the Villa. He helped plan everything, shared great recommendations, drove us when we didn’t want to take our rental car, booked reservations, and sent parking pins for every day trip. He went out of his way to make our time special. We stayed for two weeks in June 2024 and loved it. The property is gorgeous and has what you need for a great stay. We swam, played tennis and pickle ball on the regulation size court, and the kids had fun at the playground. Chef Fabrizio did a full dinner service and a few drop off meals, and we also took Chef Guido’s pizza workshop. All of it was fantastic. Town was just a five-minute walk, with Da Benito, a small grocery store, pharmacy, coffee and gelato shop, and pastry shop. From the Villa, we took easy, fun day trips to Pienza, Lucca, Pisa, Florence, Montecarlo, Montecatine Terme, and San Miniato. It’s a great place for couples, families, or a multigenerational trip.

The villa worked really well for our group of 10, from toddlers and teenagers to middle aged and retired adults. There was something for everyone, and we’d gladly stay again. The layout is great and everything was very clean. Outside, there’s a pool area suited to adults and kids, and the property felt safe for children to run around and play. Stefano was friendly, accommodating, and ready to help with whatever we needed. He even took some of us on a wine tour, which was a once in a lifetime experience. The location also made it easy to drive to Pisa and then take the train into Florence. The station was an easy drive and had plenty of parking. We could have explored many more nearby hill towns if we’d had more days. Highly recommend it for a Tuscany stay.
