The cottages are rustic but well equipped, and the value for money is excellent. It’s a lovely spot far from the noise of civilization. Just a warning, don’t try their bread unless you’re ready to become its slave!

Come here to let the stress blow away like sand in the wind. You can breathe deeply, slow down, eat a healthy dinner made with genuine organic local ingredients, including plenty of vegetarian dishes, and sleep like a stone in the beautiful stone houses nestled in the greenery of the Amiata area. There’s room to meditate, book a shiatsu treatment, or set out for a spa, food and wine, horseback riding or historical tour. It’s also a great base for wandering toward the sea or the Val d'Orcia. I’ve found this to be the perfect place to lose yourself and find yourself again. The Contea is one of my favorite places in the world, and it can’t really be summed up with a single score. The location, plants, architecture, stones, mountains and panorama all contribute to its special atmosphere. You can feel the area's ancient history in small details, and notice it in the air, the food and even the water. Time seems to move at a different pace here. The people who live here add so much with their energy and the way they welcome guests as friends. It’s hard to visit the Contea and remain just a visitor. If I had to rate it, I’d give it the highest score.

Casa Rose was so charming and romantic for our two-night stay. The food was delicious, and there were cuddly animals around. Being surrounded by nature made it even nicer. I couldn’t have asked for more!
