The spa’s two hour circuit was a highlight, especially the seawater pools, strong hydrotherapy stations, heated salt area, and salt scrub. I loved listening to music underwater, something I’d never experienced before, and the eucalyptus Tonic Room was a wonderfully refreshing end to the wellness route. The upper floor pools, both inside and out, look over the sea. I’d book for late afternoon before dinner. The spa is built around the therapeutic qualities of salt and seawater, and it’s one of the most distinctive wellness experiences I’ve had. We had dinner at Elvira Restaurant in one of the beachfront gazebos, which made for a romantic setting. The tasting menu used local ingredients and seafood in dishes that celebrated Cilento cooking. I especially liked the codfish, amberjack, anchovy pasta, and desserts. Service was attentive and professional, the wine list was excellent, and the price seemed fair for the food and setting. Breakfast the next morning was just as enjoyable, with pastries, croissants, local specialties, and savory options served beside the saltwater pool with a sea view. My wife surprised me with a birthday night at Approdo Resort Thalasso Spa in San Marco di Castellabate, and it was memorable. We stayed in the Partenope Suite, a spacious, elegant room with a smart control system. Its large private terrace overlooks the sea and has a jacuzzi and sun loungers. You can step onto it from either the bedroom or the bathroom. The bathroom has double sinks and a double emotional shower with lighting effects. We also appreciated the welcome touches, including infused water and complimentary treats. I’d have liked a wider choice of wellness and skincare products in the room, so guests could try items offered at the spa. The WC and bidet area also felt a little small next to the generous rest of the suite. The resort has direct access to the sea, either by a small beach or by stairs down to the rocks and clear Cilento water. Staff sometimes had to remind a few guests to keep the spa quiet. They handled it professionally and helped protect the calm atmosphere. This is among the best hospitality and wellness stays we’ve had along the Cilento coast. The suite, spa, food, and seaside setting make it a great couples’ retreat. Highly recommended.

The spa’s three levels are laid out beautifully, and the guided route left me feeling completely refreshed. It’s intimate, with only a limited number of guests admitted at once, so the place feels elegant and exclusive. The staff welcomed us warmly, even though we arrived late for our allotted time, and were kind and enthusiastic throughout. We didn’t stay at the hotel, but the spa was a perfect 10/10. I’d highly recommend visiting if you’re in the Cilento area. I’ll be back.

The seafood was one of the best parts of our trip, fresh caught and especially enjoyable for a spot on Italy’s southern coast. The service was great too. This spa felt like a gift from the sea, with treatment rooms that each offer an experience of their own.

Breakfast was fantastic, with a huge range of fresh dairy, yogurt, baked goods, coffee, eggs, and fruit. Dinner was excellent too, though a bit pricey, and well worth it. The spa is another standout, full of places to unwind, including seawater pools, saunas at different temperatures, salt rooms, and hydromassages. I spent five days here and enjoyed the whole stay. The resort is a rare find, with a unique style, even if the main building and rooms feel somewhat dated. It’s in a peaceful small town with lovely views of the sea, marina, and boats, and it really gives you a sense of Italy. The swimming area was great, with a comfortable depth and not much seaweed. Rooms are spacious and clean. Staff were helpful and most spoke some English, but you’ll want a little Italian since you can’t expect much English everywhere. I’d definitely come back.

We had lunch after a relaxing morning here, and the staff were nice. The food was great. The spa was amazing, and I can’t wait to do it again. You can feel the sea’s influence throughout, and I felt better almost immediately. My favorite part was a pool where you can hear music underwater.
